It is the primary responsibility of the Massage Therapist to provide prompt and courteous service to all guests and to perform various massage protocols. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Grand policies, practices and procedures.
Specific Job Functions:
Performs various massage protocols, including deep pressure, hot stone and seated massage.
Escorts guests to various treatment rooms.
Maintains equipment in massage room and reports equipment that is broken, damaged, unsafe or that needs immediate repair to Grand Spa Management.
Sells retail products and maintain awareness of new products and procedures.
Keeps various massage room areas and supplies clean and stocked.
Follows all guidelines of the spa handbook.
Follows all regulations in accordance with the Department of Business Licensing and the County Code of Massage Compliance.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, 2 years of college preferred.
Must possess National Certification.
Ability to obtain a Metro Massage License.
Resort, medical or day spa experience preferred.
Massage protocol and anatomy training, combined with clinic experience necessary to pass the national certification exam.
General knowledge of mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills in order to ascertain the condition and requests of the guest.
Good public relations skills with a good personality, enjoying opportunities to work with and assist people and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
Ability to travel within the Hotel property with massage table and accessories, as well as ability to perform massage either indoors or outdoors in various climatic conditions.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to MGM Grand standards.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
