It is the primary responsibility of the Spa Massage Technician to provide a variety of massage services including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, reflexology and related treatments such as loofa scrubs and body wraps. Also, performs duties related to the cleaning, stocking, and providing amenities and service throughout the Spa. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Luxor policies, practices, and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Certificate of completion from an accredited school of massage therapy.
Six (6) months previous guest service experience preferred.
Must possess excellent guest service skills to effectively deal with guests.
Must have knowledge in all therapy services, draping techniques and contradictions of massage services.
Must have excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines while attending to details.
Must be able to follow all necessary massage modalities and integrity guidelines.
Must have the ability to work indoor, in a sometimes fast-paced, high volume, busy, and noisy environment, with occasional dirt, dust, and odors with occasional cold or warm temperatures and the sound of stereo music.
Ability to withstand various activities such as prolonged standing and occasional bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to lift, push and pull approximately 50 lbs. at a time.
Must possess unexpired National Certification - able to obtain Metro Massage License.
Six (6) month resort, medical or day spa experience preferred.
Massage protocol and anatomy training, combined with clinic experience necessary to pass the national certification exam.
General knowledge of mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail.
Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills in order to ascertain the condition and requests of the guest.
Good public relations skills with a good personality, enjoying opportunities to work with and assist people and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
Ability to travel within the hotel property with massage table and accessories, as well as ability to perform massage either indoors or outdoors in various climatic conditions.
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms.
Must have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Luxor standards.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
